A personal introduction · Fru Garden

Barina-Horváth
Fruzsina

Landscape architect and garden designer.

I’m the person behind Fru Garden. I graduated in landscape architecture in Budapest in 2018. I mainly design private gardens, residential and industrial green spaces, and planting schemes, with a nature-led approach.

As a mother of two, I know first-hand how children use a garden. In child-friendly designs, I make room for play, discovery and family time, while considering safety and the way a family’s needs change over time.

I’d like to help your garden feel right for you and its setting. It should have space for everyday life, with plants that suit both the conditions in your garden and the time you can spend caring for them.

01 / Starting with the place

Even a path
shapes a garden.

When drawing a garden path, I also think about where you want to go, what you’ll pass along the way and where you might like to pause.

Here, stepping stones by the terrace lead to the outdoor dining area, while a curving path winds towards the edible garden and a place to rest beneath the trees. Two generous lawns leave room for play and quieter moments outdoors.

Fruit trees, hedges and flowering beds frame the open lawns, with a separate entrance garden by the house. When choosing plants, I consider the site’s conditions and the time available to care for them.

02 / Thinking together

Every design starts
with a conversation.

It matters to me that you can tell me what you want and understand why I suggest a particular solution. Through drawings and discussions, we work out together what suits your garden.
