02 / My approach

In a good garden, the details
bring out the best in each other.

Colourful flower beds and shade trees along a garden path
Among flowers / mood inspiration

A garden begins where your life steps outside the house. Paths, places to gather, quiet corners — designed to connect with one another.

The position of a shade tree, the view from the terrace, the path of rainwater and how easily a bed can be cared for all connect. I look for these relationships in every plan — alongside the way you use your garden.

01 — SHARED SPACES

Room to
meet.

In a shared residential garden, many people’s daily lives meet. Seating beneath trees, clear routes and planted boundaries create spaces that are shared yet distinct.

02 — Arriving in the garden

Between the stepping stones and on either side of the path, plants of different heights lead you to the entrance. The entrance already hints at the garden’s character.

03 — Flowering paths and leafy retreats

Winding paths lead from the house to shaded places to rest. Flowering perennial borders and varied trees connect garden spaces with distinct moods.

The living fabric of a garden

Colours that
live together.

Flowers are just one layer. Leaf shapes, plant heights and the rhythm of the seasons give a garden its character — suited to the light, soil and time you have for care.

05 / A personal matter

I design your garden.
You bring its story.

I’m Barina-Horváth Fruzsina, a landscape architect. I love it when a design brings practicality and the natural character of plants together.

In our conversations, I look for what matters to you. At the drawing board, I explore how it can connect with the garden’s light, soil, existing plants worth keeping and the care you can give it.

In person or online: accurate site information and needs clarified together are the foundation of the design.

01

Getting to know you.

Your garden’s location, size, photos and your wishes. We review what’s needed and which details still need clarifying.

02

Making connections.

Once the quote is accepted, a concept brings together use, spatial proportions and planting.

03

A plan you can use.

Digital plans tailored to the task help with sourcing, contractor discussions and scheduling the work.

The process in detail

The level of detail depends on the package. Alongside a concept, you can choose a plant list, flowering calendar, planting plan and setting-out plan to suit your project.

Good to know before you begin

A few questions.
Clear answers.

All frequently asked questions
Can a varied garden need less care?

Yes, if plant choice starts with the site. Suitable size, hardiness and water needs matter as much as flowers. Site-appropriate drought-tolerant plants, mulch and thoughtful bed sizes can ease maintenance, but I don’t promise a maintenance-free garden.

Do I need a full garden plan or just a border plan?

If the layout and use already work well, a planting plan may be enough. If the terrace, routes, seating or functions need changing, it’s worth starting with the garden as a whole.

How does online garden design work?

We start with a dimensioned site plan, photos of the garden and your needs. We clarify missing information together. Complex terrain, steep slopes or uncertain dimensions may require an additional site survey.

What plans will I receive?

Depending on the task and package, these may include a concept, hand-drawn views, planting plan, plant list, flowering calendar and setting-out plan. The quote defines the exact scope; I deliver the documents digitally.

What determines the price and timing of garden design?

The garden’s size and complexity, the drawings needed and the available site information. Packages help you find your bearings; the quote sets out the price and schedule for your garden.

Can the plans be used to build the garden?

You or your appointed landscaper or building contractor organise construction. By prior arrangement, I can help on site when the plants arrive, refining their positions according to the plan and arranging them before planting.

Follow-up on the garden’s development and further advice are available by individual arrangement.

Do you also design drought-tolerant, climate-adapted gardens?

Yes, I consider longer dry spells and summer heat. I select drought-tolerant plants suited to the soil, light and water available. Mulch, shade-giving planting and retaining rainwater on site are part of the same approach. The aim is a varied, liveable garden better adapted to a changing climate. Newly planted areas still need watering while they establish.

Can a design help me as a landscaper or building contractor?

Landscapers and building contractors can commission a complete garden plan too. Planting and setting-out drawings, plant schedules and material quantities provide a shared basis for quotations, purchasing and construction.

Documents are delivered digitally. Before the quotation we agree file formats, scale, level of detail, revision scope and timing, including any separate specialist documentation required.
